Healthy Air In The News – November 2020

2 minute read

Across the world and throughout the year, Healthy Air is a topic with a large impact on everyone’s daily lives. Healthy Air In The News is a collection of the latest articles that we’ve found for you to share with your co-workers and customers to help everyone better understand what impacts the air around us and we what we can all do to create more Healthy Air.

El Pais – “A room, a bar and a classroom: how the coronavirus is spread through the air”

Much has been learned about viral transmission over the last several months, and that’s on top of what years of aerosol science, epidemiology, and HVAC knowledge have already taught us. This article from Spanish news outlet El Pais presents an interactive and highly visual look at how the coronavirus spreads through the air through variable types of rooms, safety measures, and exposure windows.

New York Times – “Masks Work. Really. We’ll Show You How”

Back in the states, the New York Times have provided another interactive article involving viruses – this time, it’s focused on Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). For all of the high-efficiency air cleaner installers out there, the parts of the discussion involving particle size might seem like second-hand knowledge to you by this point! No matter if your technical and sales counterparts are already wearing masks, it’s always a good idea to revisit mask technology to make sure everyone at your business is working as safely as possible in the office and in customers’ homes.

The State – “Hurricanes repeatedly devastate this SC town, leaving a stinking threat behind: Mold”

We recently highlighted “The Dangers of Black Mold” on Partner Pro Talk, and now The State is presenting these dangers as they have happened to South Carolinians in the path of recent, devastating hurricanes. Our Healthy Air Partners in the basement and crawl space world know first-hand what’s needed to defend homes from damage due to extreme storms. What they also know is how dehumidification is a key preventative measure in the fight against mold growth. Another great article to help educate your team and your customers on the need for humidity control in the home.
